NAGAFF AND STANDARDS ORGANIZATIONS OF NIGERIA (SON) in RESPONSIBLE PARTNERSHIP
A high powered delegation of NAGAFF led by the Founder, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam today paid a working visit to the newly appointed Acting Director General of STANDARD ORGANIZATIONS OF NIGERIA , Dr. Paul Angya.
At the meeting, NAGAFF highlighted various issues of SON as it affects the freight forwarders and importing public. The issues include but not limited to the following:
1. Ambushing duly cleared containers en-route the owners warehouse.
2. The issue of arbitrary debit note for “import permit” which has replaced the EPCC, Electronic Provisional Compliance Certificate.
3.The issue of staggered inspection of container after customs examination resulting to payment for double handling to the relevant authority.
4. Delay in obtaining the debit note for payment import permit after application.
In response, the Acting DG promised to look into the various complaint raised. He equally said that he will continue with all the good programmes of his predecessor, Dr Ikem Odumodu, while he will jettison those he think constitutes impediments to trade facilitation without compromising standard.
